Square Song

My square song features a happy singing square character that lets children not only see a square shape, but also gives them a catchy fun song to sing-a-long with.

The square song and character focus on the characteristics of a square.
1. 4 straight lines
2. 4 equal sides

I wrote this song to be a simple and fun way for kids to remember the basic concepts and features of a square. Have your children sing with our square character and then find squares in their environment to enhance and broaden their experience.

Count to 120 Song

Count to 120 is a video designed to help children learn to count to 120 by 1's. This educational song helps children with number recognition, place holders and counting. All the numbers are pronounced clearly and slowly so even the youngest children can follow along. Also, all the numbers are shown on screen in a large easy to read font.

Goin' on a Whale Watch

I write 99.9% of my songs, but I particularly like this new one called, "Going on a Whale Watch".

I wrote this song right after going on an Alaskan cruise to celebrate my wife, Lisa and I's, 30th Anniversary. We took a special small boat trip to look for whales. It was a beautiful, cool, and windy day. We saw six or maybe more Humpback whales. Plus, we saw a few more whales from our Holland of America cruise ship while heading back to Seattle, WA.

It was such a fantastic experience; it inspired me to write a song. The song is soon to release on my new album, "Jump, Jive & Jiggle".

You can listen to a sample here.

This song has everything children, teachers, and parents will love:

  • movement and action
  • repetition
  • rhyming
  • call and response
  • learning about a whale watch
  • sequencing
  • story re-telling
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

FREE Flash Cards

Free Learning Letter Sounds Flash Cards at http://www.jackhartmann.com/activity/

We've had a lot of requests recently from teachers for flash cards to use with the Learning Letter Sounds song on Shake, Rattle n' Read. So we decided to make them. What's better is we're giving them to you for FREE.

All you have to do is print them out. They are designed one letter per page, with the image and word for the letter mentioned in the song. These are the same images that appear on the Learning Rocks Reading Skills DVD and on our wall chart that we sell for $8 on the website. The flash cards print on a standard 8.5" x 11" piece of paper in landscape.

Here is the link to our activities page where you can also find some free terrific coloring pages too.

Here is a bundle you can purchase to save you some money while you help your child or classroom learn their letter sounds.

New Blog

“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” – Albert Einstein
Teachers know the look; the look of amazement when a child understands a concept for the first time. To them there is no greater reward than that look.
Teachers work hard every day to help children reach their potential. Without teachers, we would not have doctors, lawyers, architects, accountants, business people and the list goes on.
This blog is dedicated to helping teachers help children reach their potential. Music is said to be the universal language. Have you ever heard a song that makes you feel something, makes you want to get up and move or motivate you? Imagine using this power to help children learn to read or write. How about music helping a child learn math?
It is possible and I have over 700 songs on 30 CD’s to help you achieve this and more.
Join me as we “turn up the learning” together.
